Onyx, Apona, Stinker, and Penelope sleep on the bed and the couches. We lost King on January 27, 2025. The next Great Dane pulled out of a bad situation needs a building made for a body that size.
In the house
This is not a kennel. This is the living room.
Four of them still do. Onyx, Apona, Stinker, and Penelope. Giant heads on the sofa. White paws on the truck console. We lost King on January 27, 2025 — an unpredictable tragedy. He used to drape himself over Onyx in that kitchen like a rug that had opinions.
Pasco will not let ten dogs stack up on one property without calling it a kennel. We will not pretend a hallway can swallow every Dane that needs a bed. The family stays in the house. The ones still out there need a yard designed for them.
What the money is for
An outdoor facility built for special rescue Danes.
Not a row of runs. A place with the scale of a Great Dane in mind — shade, footing, a quiet corner to heal after a terrible situation. The house dogs keep the house. The building is for the next one.
Great Danes break differently. Bloat is not a rumor. A hundred and fifty pounds does not fold into a crate made for a lab. If we are going to take dogs that other people could not keep, they deserve a facility that already knows that.
WildBills' Great Dane Rescue is a Florida nonprofit in formation. We are not a 501(c)(3) yet, and we will not tell you a gift is tax-deductible. She is seven. White blaze. Soft gray wash. Marks that look painted, not stamped. She is not King. King was ink-blot harlequin — dense black islands on white. Apona is the quieter map. That chin on the table is hers.

Heavy spots. Cover Dane.
We lost him January 27, 2025. It was not the ending anyone saw coming. He was going to be a breeder. Before that, he and Onyx had a litter. Stinker is theirs — that bloodline is still in this house. Pops — George Fields — held him as a pup on the porch in a blue shirt. In the kitchen he draped himself over Onyx like a rug that had opinions. He is still the 2027 calendar cover — the harlequin with the dark patches you can count.
Onyx
Black. Seven years in this truck.
White paws on the console, 2019. Stick in the pasture. In December 2023 she and King had a litter on a blue blanket. The frost on her muzzle is the part the camera caught later. Stinker is her son, and King’s.
Stinker
King and Onyx’s boy. Less white on the face.
He will be three in December. Black like his mom, younger, cleaner muzzle. He is what is left of that litter in this house — King and Onyx’s bloodline, still on the bed and the couches. Here since December 2024. He is the one on the sand, and the one on the ornament in the shop. If you hang him on a tree, five dollars of that comes back to the dogs.
Penelope
The brown boxer. Still in the picture.
She is ten. She is not a Dane and she is not extra. On the farm deck she sits on the left — smaller, brown, looking at the same trees. The house has always been more than one breed. She is in that pack.
